CHANDLER, AZ – Looks like they were doing more than just fighting fires last year! The Chandler Fire Department in Arizona is celebrating a major milestone after 19 babies were born to its firefighters in 2024. Among those little ones were twins, making this year especially memorable for the department. With nearly 10% of the team becoming parents, itâs been a year of joy and growth for the department, with proud parents and firefighters sharing their excitement on social media.
A Record Year for Chandler Firefighters
In total, 19 babies were born to members of the Chandler Fire Department, including 13 girls and 6 boys. The department, which has around 250 members, has seen nearly 10% of its staff welcoming new arrivals this past year.
âSo with almost 20 children being born, thatâs close to 10 percent of our department having babies,â said one of the firefighters, adding to the sense of community and pride that these new additions bring to the team.
A Sweet and Memorable Celebration
The Chandler Fire Department celebrated these new arrivals by sharing heartwarming photos on Instagram. In one image, several firefighters are pictured holding their babies in front of a fire truck, with some of the newborns wearing tiny red bow headbands.
