In 2015 we made a feature length documentary film called Jug Band Hokum. It was tons of fun and after playing film festivals around the world for about a year, it ended up living on Amazon – where you can rent or buy it. To celebrate the redesign of JackAndKitty.com and the recent release of “Jug Band Hokum: A Documentary Series” (our 2021 episodic expansion and remix of the original film), we wanted to make it available to stream for free on our YouTube channel.

Quirky, funny and downright bizarre, Jug Band Hokum follows the eccentric lives of jug band musicians competing to win a broken waffle iron in the 33rd Annual Minneapolis Battle of the Jug Bands. The film features appearances by: Garrison Keillor, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Charlie Parr, Dom Flemons of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Baby Gramps and more. It stars: Jillian Paige (Amnesia Starr), Joseph Lymous (Lil’ Majesty), Anne Baggenstoss and Brooklynd Turner, and was co-directed by Jack and Kitty Norton.

PS: Be sure to check out The Visual Scrapbook, a collection of over 500 behind-the-scenes photos, production pix and still frames. Tons of fun! Also, an interview with the stars is here.
