Sometimes things get a bit random and you don’t know how to make sense of it all, such is the case with today’s vlog. We’re working on a big project that’s forcing us to go through the archives and we found a few videos we made years ago. They were fun to make, but don’t really make any sense within our body of work. Well, whatever. We just go where the wind takes us, and today the winds are blowing randomly from north, south, east and west…

By the way, be sure to like/comment/subscribe to our new YouTube channel.

Here’s a video of one of Kitty’s first serious girlfriends Alythia singing in a kirtan band called The Ramamones. Kitty later joined the group (just for fun and as an excuse for them to hang out…hehehehe). The band used to practice at Your Yoga in Minneapolis, which is where this was filmed. Actually this yoga studio was a coffeehouse back in the late 1950s and it was one of the first places Bob Dylan ever played…

Speaking of Minneapolis, we filmed this clip at a Black Lives Matter rally around the time Jamar Clark was murdered. Sad to say this was Minneapolis in 2015…five years before the murder of George Floyd

Here’s something more upbeat. We filmed this in the Twin Cities too. A commissioned community film called Heart of the Story. This piece played numerous film festivals and was a real honor to coordinate. Heart Of The Story follows the lives of seven residents as they meet neighbors in their St. Paul community. Filmed and directed by the residents, this project celebrates family, friends and fellowship through the process of learning filmmaking.

As long as we’re on a Minneapolis theme (I guess this blog posting wasn’t so random after all, but I’m too lazy to scroll up and rename this entry), here’s a film Jack shot, edited and premiered all in front of a live audience and all on the same evening as part of the Dance Flix Film Fest (presented by our friends at the Twin Cities Film Fest)…

Jack worked as an editor/shooter on this dance film too, which was a tribute to documentary filmmaker Hilary Harris. A fun project to work on…not sure where this film went, it was just a work-for-hire but thought Purrfect may want to watch it!
