ST. CLOUD, MN – The bright lights of the St. Cloud, Minnesota studio were glaring, the air heavy with tension. The casual banter of the host quickly spiraled into something darker, more invasive. Viewers of the Steel Toe Morning Show had no idea they were about to witness an unsettling violation unfold live on air.

During the show, a nude photo of a woman was allegedly shared, without her consent, and discussed with crude commentary by the host and a guest. This disturbing event has now led to serious criminal charges for the man behind the microphone.

Aaron Imholte, a 37-year-old podcast host based in St. Cloud, is now facing two counts of non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images. One of these charges is a felony, carrying the potential for up to three years in prison. The incident allegedly occurred in May, and it wasn’t until a woman came forward in July that the full weight of the accusations became public.

Troubled Past Surfaces

Imholte, who once hosted the Steel Toe Morning Show on “Rockin’ 101” WHMH-FM in St. Cloud, has a controversial history. In 2020, he resigned from the radio station following public backlash over misogynistic remarks made about a female colleague in Iowa.

Despite leaving traditional radio behind, Imholte kept his show alive on YouTube, continuing to build a following with edgy content. However, the boundary between shock value and criminal behavior appears to have blurred during a recent episode.

According to court documents, the woman involved had been communicating with Imholte through the private messaging app Signal. At some point in their interaction, she had sent nude photos, never imagining they would later be used against her.

After their relationship soured, Imholte allegedly began speaking negatively about her and two other individuals on his show, turning private matters into public entertainment.

The Alleged Crime

What began as a personal conflict soon crossed into criminal territory. During the May episode, Imholte allegedly sent one of his guests a nude photo of the woman without her permission. The photo was then openly discussed on air, with the guest making casual comments about the woman’s body art. Imholte, seemingly proud of his actions, engaged in the conversation with a disturbing lack of regard for the woman’s privacy.

While the guest later claimed to have deleted the photo, the damage had been done. Law enforcement was brought into the case, and investigators confirmed that the image had been shared without consent. Imholte, however, denied any memory of receiving or sending the photo during his interview with police.

Prosecutors have expressed concerns about Imholte’s behavior, stating that his actions during live broadcasts show a pattern of harassment that could continue if left unchecked. As the case moves forward, Imholte faces the possibility of significant legal consequences for what transpired during his podcast.

With the felony charge looming, the future of the Steel Toe Morning Show—and its host—hangs in the balance.

Roseau Co Atty Kristi Kjos, Kittson Co Deputy Kelly Gustafson & Warroad Police Officer Travis Olafson did this exact same thing in hopes of degrading me. The nude photo that was sent to
Me was accident caught on camera & these three shared it with several ppl. There was never any charges on either of them. Sheriff Gust even tried to get the BCA to investigate it, but NCA Agent Nathan Adam’s wouldn’t investigate it!
