TACOMA, WA – In the quiet hours before sunrise, a stolen car crashed into Centennial Elementary School in Graham, Washington, leaving its doors destroyed and authorities on the hunt for answers. The suspects fled immediately, abandoning the running vehicle inside the building.

Stolen Car Crashes Into School Building

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident around 4:58 a.m. Thursday after a 911 call reported unusual activity. Witnesses said two cars were seen doing doughnuts in the parking lot before one vehicle, a black Hyundai Sonata, plowed into the school’s entrance. The individuals involved—described as two or three young adults or teens—quickly exited the crashed car and fled in another vehicle.

Deputies arrived to find the Hyundai abandoned but still running inside the school. According to the sheriff’s office, the car had been reported stolen from a Spanaway residence earlier that night. Surveillance footage reviewed by authorities confirmed that the suspects did not attempt to steal or vandalize anything inside the school after the crash.
