A New Chapter for Mason City
Mason City, IA – Amazon is coming to northern Iowa! The North Iowa Corridor EDC and the City of Mason City have been working hand-in-hand with Amazon to make this dream a reality. The new 50,000 sq/ft facility will be located near the Avenue of the Saints/Highway 18, making it easy for packages to zip around the region.
Mayor Bill Schickel is excited about the opportunities this brings, saying, “The establishment of Amazon’s distribution center in Mason City presents a unique opportunity for job creation, economic growth, and increased access to goods and services for our residents.” But he also wants to make sure local businesses and infrastructure are taken care of as the city grows.
Bringing Jobs and Speedy Delivery
This new facility is what Amazon calls a “last-mile” center. That means it’s the final stop for packages before they land on your doorstep. Local employees will be processing orders and making sure they get to you lickety-split.
Jason Vangalis from Amazon is pumped about the partnership, saying, “We’re grateful for our partnership with Mason City and Cerro Gordo County as this last-mile facility will allow us to better serve our customers in North Iowa.”
Amazon’s Impact on Iowa
