A Dinkytown Legend Returns

Minneapolis, Minnesota – Picture this: you’re a student at the University of Minnesota, and you’re craving a juicy burger and a creamy malt. Where do you go? Annie’s Parlour, of course!

This beloved malt shop has been a Dinkytown staple for years. Jack and I used to live just a few blocks away and loved going to Annie’s. But then, the pandemic hit, and Annie’s closed its doors in 2020. I thought I’d never get to enjoy their famous plaza burger again.

Worth the Wait

Fast forward almost four years, and guess what? Annie’s Parlour is back and better than ever! Sure, there were some delays and even a tragic loss in the Rimarcik family, who own the place. But let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

Burgers, Fries, and Malts, Oh My!

First things first, let’s talk about the food. The burgers at Annie’s are out of this world, especially the plaza burger. It comes with onions and sour cream on a pumpernickel bun, and it’s a flavor explosion in your mouth. And don’t even get me started on the fries – they’re cut in-house and fried to perfection. Or the onion rings, which are just as incredible.

Pro Tip: Bring a friend so you can have some of each!

But the real star of the show at Annie’s? The malts. You simply can’t leave without trying one. And if you’re not in the mood for a malt, the hot fudge sundae with bananas and nuts is a must-try.

Welcome Back, Annie’s!

I couldn’t be happier that Annie’s Parlour (313 14th Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414) is back in business. It’s a true treasure of the Twin Cities, and I can’t wait to line up for a plaza burger and a malt. Visit their Facebook page here. The place has been pretty busy since it reopened in late February 2024, so if you want to avoid the crowds, ordering take-out and having a little staycation at home might be the way to go.

So, welcome back, Annie’s Parlour! You’ve been missed, and I can’t wait to create even more memories at this iconic Minnesota malt shop.
