GLENDALE, AZ – An Arizona man was arrested Monday after allegedly making threats to kill President-elect Donald Trump in several disturbing Facebook videos, one of which shows him holding a rifle. Manuel Tamayo-Torres, facing a felony charge, reportedly posted these threats on social media, sparking a serious investigation by authorities.

As the nation continues to navigate rising tensions and divisive rhetoric, this case highlights the importance of holding individuals accountable for threats against those in positions of power. The legal system stands as a safeguard to protect democracy and ensure that such dangerous behavior is swiftly addressed.

The Threats Posted on Social Media

Court documents reveal that Tamayo-Torres made several violent threats against Trump and his family. In one of the videos, recorded last Thursday, he says, “You’re gonna die, your son’s gonna die. Your whole family is going to die, [Individual 1]. This is reality now for you. This is the only reality you have in your future, [Individual 1], dying.”

In another video earlier this month, Tamayo-Torres appeared to hold up a rifle, which court documents describe as “what appears to be a white AR 15-style rifle with a 30-round magazine inserted into it,” while threatening to shoot the president-elect. These videos were shared on Tamayo-Torres’ Facebook account, where he allegedly made the threats clear and direct.

Connection to Trump’s Rally and Other Legal Charges

Tamayo-Torres also posted a video from August 23, when he attended Trump’s rally at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. During this rally, Trump spoke about a commission to investigate assassination attempts and mentioned a previous incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a threat to his life had been made.

Aside from the threats against Trump, Tamayo-Torres is facing additional charges for allegedly making false statements on federal forms while attempting to purchase a firearm in Phoenix last year. The court documents suggest that these actions further complicate his legal situation.

Legal Implications and Ongoing Investigation

Tamayo-Torres has been charged with a felony for threatening a public official, which carries significant legal consequences. The case also raises concerns about the growing threats to public figures in the digital age, especially as social media platforms become a tool for spreading violent rhetoric.

It remains unclear whether Tamayo-Torres has legal representation at this stage of the case. As the investigation progresses, authorities will continue to assess the risks posed by online threats and the potential for real-world harm.

As we face these challenges, let us come together in prayer for our country—asking for peace, unity, and protection for our leaders and citizens. May we all work toward a future built on respect, understanding, and the values that make America strong.
