Winona, Minnesota – It’s no secret that we love Taylor Swift. Whenever heartwarming Tay news crosses our desk, we feel it is our duty to spread the T-Swizzle vibes. Heck, we even love Taylor Swift jokes. So despite the following story taking place in Australia, we had to break from our daily stream of Midwestern news and share this awesome story!
Guys, in a surprising turn of events, a peregrine falcon, the fastest swiftest bird in the world, made a dramatic entrance at a recent Taylor Swift concert in Australia. The bird, later named Swifty, fell from the sky and landed in the stands, startling the venue workers who were preparing for the show. OMG!
The Rescue Mission
The workers quickly realized that Swifty was injured and unable to fly. They provided the bird with water and hoped he would take off on his own, but it soon became clear that he needed expert help. That’s when they called in Jess Crause, a wildlife rehabilitator from Sydney Wildlife Rescue.
Crause, who lives near the stadium, usually can get there within 10 minutes. However, on that day, the concert crowds and poor weather conditions made the journey a bit more challenging. Despite the obstacles, Crause managed to navigate through the chaos and finally arrived at the scene.
A Friendly Crowd of Swifties
As Crause entered the venue, she was greeted by a crowd of curious and friendly concert-goers. They were all dressed up and in high spirits, eager to know what was in Crause’s carrier and reading her vest. The positive vibe made the rescue mission a bit more enjoyable for Crause.
Handling Swifty with Care
Raptors, like Swifty, have strong feet and beaks, which meant that Crause had to be extra careful while handling him to avoid any injuries to the bird or herself. She could tell that Swifty was stressed and scared, so she worked quickly to contain him using a large towel, making sure to cover his body, feet, and head.
On the Road to Recovery
Once Swifty was safely in the carrier, Crause made her way out of the venue. She was relieved to see that the bird didn’t seem to have any obvious fractures, but he was clearly dehydrated and in pain. Crause knew that Swifty would need some time to recover, and she was glad that he was caught before the music started and the stadium reached full capacity.
Swifty was taken to the Taronga Wildlife Hospital, where veterinarians confirmed that he had no fractures. After spending some time in the intensive care unit, Swifty was moved to a rehabilitation aviary to continue his recovery.
A Happy Ending
Thanks to the quick actions of the venue workers and the expertise of Jess Crause, Swifty is now on his way to a full recovery. He is currently enjoying some much-needed TLC at the wildlife hospital before he is released back into the wild. It’s heartwarming to know that so many animal lovers came together to ensure that this beautiful bird will soon be soaring through the skies once again. I guess you could say Swifty really knows how to shake it off!
