LOS ANGELES, CA – The search for missing woman Hannah Kobayashi took a heartbreaking turn early Sunday morning when her father, Ryan Kobayashi, was found dead near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Ryan had been in Los Angeles for over two weeks, desperately searching for his 30-year-old daughter, who vanished after missing a connecting flight to New York. His tragic death, following a jump from a parking structure, has intensified the family’s grief as they continue to seek answers. Hannah’s Disappearance and the Growing Concerns

Hannah Kobayashi, who traveled from Maui to Los Angeles on November 8 for a “bucket list” trip to New York, lost contact with her family shortly after arriving at LAX. She missed her connecting flight to New York despite having landed at the airport. Surveillance footage confirmed she arrived at LAX, but she failed to board her next flight 42 minutes later.

Her family grew concerned when they received a series of disturbing, cryptic messages from Hannah. These included a text to a friend stating that she had “got tricked into pretty much giving away all my funds” and another claiming she had been manipulated by someone she thought she loved.

In a more alarming message, she wrote, “Deep Hackers wiped my identity, stole all of my funds, & have had me on a mind f–k since Friday.”

Her aunt, Larie Pidgeon, shared her concerns, saying the messages were completely uncharacteristic of Hannah: “She mentioned feeling scared, and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity.”

The last known communication from Hannah came on November 11 when her phone was switched off. Prior to that, footage placed her at various locations in Los Angeles, including the Grove shopping center and near the LAX metro station. The family filed a missing persons report with the LAPD, LAX authorities, and the FBI, hoping to find clues to her whereabouts.

Ryan Kobayashi’s Final Days

While still desperately searching for his daughter, Ryan Kobayashi spoke to KTLA on Monday, expressing his longing to hear from Hannah. “I miss her,” he said. “Just want her to know that, and just want her to reach out – anything.” His efforts to find his daughter included days of searching across Los Angeles, but the emotional toll was too much for him.

On Sunday, November 24, Ryan’s life came to a tragic end when he was found dead near LAX after jumping from a parking structure around 4 a.m. A statement from the RAD Movement, a nonprofit organization assisting in the search, confirmed his death, expressing profound sorrow for the family: “After tirelessly searching throughout Los Angeles for 13 days, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life. This loss has compounded the family’s suffering immeasurably.”

The family has requested privacy during this incredibly difficult time and has urged the public to continue focusing on the search for Hannah.
