CHICAGO, IL – A shocking scene unfolded inside a Chicago McDonald’s early Sunday morning when a man went on a brutal rampage after being denied free food. The horrifying incident took place around 8:30 a.m. on the city’s Southwest Side, leaving three people injured and sparking a frantic police investigation.
Chaos at Breakfast Time
The peaceful morning was shattered when the suspect, an unidentified man, stormed into the fast-food restaurant on the 7800 block of South Western Avenue.
Demanding free food from the cashier, the situation quickly escalated when his request was denied. Instead of leaving, the man unleashed a terrifying attack with what authorities are describing as a “hatchet-like” weapon.
Three Victims Left Reeling
In the blink of an eye, the attacker targeted three unsuspecting victims. An 18-year-old man, who was working at the time, was viciously struck and had to be rushed to Christ Hospital. Despite his ordeal, he was listed in good condition.
The attacker also set upon two women, both 45 years old. One of them suffered serious injuries and was taken to Christ Hospital, while the other was transported to Holy Cross Hospital, where she was treated for less severe injuries.
The Hunt for the Attacker
As the dust settled, the attacker fled the scene, leaving a trail of panic and fear. But the story doesn’t end there.
Police have since detained a person of interest in connection with the blood-soaked rampage, though no further details have been released about their identity or motives.
