CHICAGO, IL – A heated town board meeting in Dolton – a small Village in Chicago, Illinois – spiraled into complete chaos when scandal-ridden and self-proclaimed ‘Super Mayor’ Tiffany Henyard found herself at the center of a violent confrontation. The explosive clash began when activist Jedidiah Brown verbally attacked Henyard, triggering a physical altercation that quickly escalated into an all-out brawl. The scene descended into pandemonium as fists flew, security scrambled to intervene, and Henyard herself became directly involved in the melee.

Verbal Attack Sparks Physical Confrontation

Tensions were already high when Brown took the microphone during the public comment session.

In a blistering tirade, he criticized Henyard’s leadership, accused her of corruption, and insulted her in front of the board.

His remarks were met with immediate hostility from Henyard’s supporters, including her boyfriend, Kamal Woods, who was seated at the back of the room.

Moments after Brown finished speaking, Woods confronted him, and what began as an exchange of words quickly turned violent. The two men threw punches as multiple individuals rushed to join the fight, creating a chaotic scene that overwhelmed security personnel.

Mayor Henyard, who had been sitting with the board of trustees, abruptly left her seat and became physically involved in the fracas.

Henyard Caught in the Mayhem

As the fight escalated, the ‘Super Mayor’ was seen in the middle of the action, though it was unclear whether she was attempting to break it up or actively participating. At one point, she was knocked to the ground and lost a shoe in the scuffle.

Eyewitnesses described the event as shocking, with people jumping on tables, throwing punches, and security struggling to regain control.

Brown later alleged that the fight had been orchestrated in advance, claiming that he had been insulted and provoked before being attacked. He took to social media to insist that he fought back against multiple assailants, including Henyard, whom he accused of striking him first.

Investigation Into Township Funds Adds Fuel to the Fire

The fight erupted against the backdrop of a contentious meeting agenda, which included discussions about Woods’ role in the township’s at-risk youth program.

Woods and his colleague, William Moore, were both placed on paid administrative leave as board members and community leaders raised concerns over how grant money and township funds were being handled.

The board also approved an independent investigation into financial irregularities, a decision that Henyard dismissed as political retaliation. She responded to the board’s actions with threats of legal action, further intensifying the already volatile situation.

Legal Troubles Mount for Henyard

The brawl comes just days after Henyard was found in contempt of court for allegedly obstructing liquor license approvals for months.

Business owners had accused her of repeatedly delaying the signing of licenses that had already been approved by the village board. Under legal pressure, she eventually signed two of the three licenses but only after arriving late to a court hearing where she faced potential penalties.

Aftermath and Unanswered Questions

Despite the violence, no arrests were made, and it remains unclear if anyone sustained injuries. Brown was eventually removed from the premises by police, while authorities ordered everyone else to leave the building. The meeting was never formally adjourned, adding to the disorder of the evening.

Henyard’s attorney is reportedly preparing a statement on the incident. Meanwhile, her recent defeat in the Democratic primary for Thornton Township supervisor has added further uncertainty to her political future. She has vowed to challenge the election results, citing alleged voter suppression.

With mounting legal battles, growing opposition, and now a public brawl on record, Henyard’s leadership remains under intense scrutiny. The township’s political turmoil shows no sign of settling down anytime soon. Who knew going to a Dolton board meeting would be like watching an old episode of The Jerry Springer Show?
