CHICAGO, IL – A 42-year-old man from Evanston, Illinois has been charged following a shooting incident that left a 3-year-old boy injured in the Humboldt Park neighborhood earlier this week.

Incident Details

The shooting occurred on Thursday night, around 10:46 p.m., in the 1100 block of North Kostner Avenue.

The young boy was traveling in a car with his mother when shots were fired from a pickup truck, according to reports from the Chicago police. The child was grazed by a bullet during the incident.

Arrest and Charges

The suspect, identified as Jose Sanchez, was apprehended by law enforcement on Friday evening at approximately 8:43 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Cermak Road.

Sanchez is facing serious legal consequences, having been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with a discharged firearm.
