LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA – A quiet weekend beach stroll turned unsettling when human remains were discovered along the shore in Palos Verdes Estates, California. Authorities are now investigating the discovery of a human skull and bones found at low tide.

Beachgoer Makes Grim Discovery

At approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, a beachgoer reported finding what appeared to be a human skull and another bone near the low tide line at RAT (Redondo and Torrance) Beach, located on the 300 block of Paseo Del Mar in Los Angeles County.

Officers from the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department quickly responded to the scene. Acting Captain Aaron Belda described what officials found upon arrival.

“Sure enough, when they got there, they saw what looked to be a skull and a part of a skeleton, a torso in the surf,” Belda said.

Before the tide returned, additional bones were located in the area, police reported.
