ST. PAUL, MN – A church is merging tradition with technology in a way that’s turning heads. St. Peter’s Chapel in Lucerne, Switzerland, the city’s oldest Catholic church, has introduced an A.I.-powered hologram of Jesus, allowing parishioners to have unique conversations with a virtual Messiah. Dubbed “A.I. Jesus,” this experiment could mark a significant shift in how people connect with their faith.

The A.I. Confessional Experience

At St. Peter’s Chapel, visitors step into a confessional booth for a private moment. However, instead of a priest appearing behind a screen, the holographic face of A.I. Jesus greets them. With a youthful appearance, long black hair, and a beard, the figure mirrors traditional depictions of Christ.

Over 1,000 Conversations and Counting

Since its launch two months ago, the A.I. Jesus has engaged in more than 1,000 conversations with churchgoers. The system’s impressive ability to speak over 100 languages has made it accessible to a wide range of parishioners.

Unlike scripted interactions, the responses from A.I. Jesus are not pre-programmed, adding a layer of unpredictability to the exchanges.

According to reports, most parishioners have had positive experiences with the experiment, finding it to be thought-provoking and engaging. Church officials say the undertaking remains in a trial phase and is not intended as a permanent replacement for clergy.

Technology Meets Tradition

The introduction of A.I. Jesus raises intriguing questions about the role of technology in spiritual practices. While this innovative approach has sparked curiosity and interest, it’s unclear whether such tools will become a permanent fixture in religious institutions. For now, St. Peter’s Chapel views the project as a way to explore how modern advancements can coexist with ancient traditions.

As the church continues its experiment, one thing is clear: A.I. Jesus has already made an impression. Whether this blend of faith and futuristic technology evolves further will depend on the balance between embracing innovation and preserving centuries-old customs.
