CHICAGO, IL – A well-known Joliet, Illinois pastor, Rev. Warren Beard, has mysteriously disappeared, leaving his community in shock and desperation. On July 2, Beard, who is cherished by many for his warm and friendly demeanor, left home for a casual meet-up with a friend and never returned.

As days go by without any sign of him, fears of foul play grow, and the urgent search intensifies. The community is rallying together, desperate for answers in this baffling case.

Search for Missing Joliet Pastor Intensifies

Reverend Warren Beard is a 53-year-old pastor from Joliet, Illinois. He was last seen on July 2 in the 300 block of East 89th Street in Chicago. Chicago police, along with his family and friends, are seeking the public’s assistance in locating him.

Beard is described as a 6-foot-tall African American man with a muscular build, brown eyes, a bald head, and several tattoos on his arms and back. He drives a black 2023 Honda HRV Sport with Illinois license plate DY20511. His family and friends are holding a news conference to urge anyone with information to come forward.

Timeline and Details of Disappearance

Rev. Beard was last seen in Joliet, Illinois, meeting with a friend. The two visited Harrah’s Casino and then went to a mutual friend’s house.

According to his wife, Wanda Beals, Beard left their house on Chicago’s South Side after dropping off his work bag, saying he was going to hang out with a friend from Iowa. Beard’s wife realized he was missing around 3 a.m. the next day when he had not returned home.

Efforts to Locate Beard

Family members filed a police report with both Chicago and Joliet authorities. Beard’s car was spotted by a license plate reader in Joliet at 10:24 p.m. on the night he was last seen, and again the next day at 4:30 p.m. traveling on Interstate 55 near Harlem Avenue.

Joliet police searched the last residence Beard visited but found nothing unusual. The female resident confirmed that Beard left around 9:30 p.m.

Beard is the facilities director for the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) in Chicago’s Woodlawn community. Co-workers described him as an easy-going and friendly person, alarmed by his sudden disappearance and lack of communication.

Fears of Foul Play

Beard’s family and friends fear he may have been the victim of a crime. With no financial or marital issues, the sudden lack of contact is out of character for Beard.

His wife, Wanda Beals, expressed deep concern, highlighting his friendly nature and lack of enemies. Beard has a birthday approaching on July 17, making the situation even more distressing for his loved ones.

Physical Description and Last Seen Details

Beard was last seen wearing a white button-up short sleeve shirt with light blue and navy-blue polka dots, navy-blue pants, and black Cole Hann laced-up shoes. He has no known physical or mental health issues.

His distinct tattoos include a scroll with the names Stefan, Shane, and Tia on his right forearm, praying hands with his initials on his left forearm, a heart with his initials on his right chest, and Chinese characters on his upper back and left arm.
