CHICAGO, IL – The embattled “Super Mayor” of a Chicago-area village is back in the news! In a chaotic and rambling Facebook live rant, Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard hinted at plans to pursue arrests against her political opponents, adding yet another layer to the growing controversies surrounding her leadership.

The nearly 90-minute video, which followed the abrupt cancellation of a Thornton Township meeting, has left residents and officials wondering what’s next for the controversial mayor.

Mayor Threatens Arrests, Citing “Power and Money Grab”

Henyard, who serves as both Dolton mayor and Thornton Township supervisor, used the video to lash out at critics, accusing them of corruption and undermining her authority.

During the address, she said, “I will be seeking arrests for individuals involved. I will be pressing charges.” Henyard insisted she is tired of the accusations leveled against her, saying, “Now it’s time for me to speak, as I say, truth speaks.”

Although the mayor did not specify what charges she plans to pursue, she characterized the actions of her adversaries as part of a “power and money grab.” Henyard promised to reveal the “full truth” behind the controversies at a future date.

Meeting Canceled Amid Political Tensions

The Facebook live followed the abrupt cancellation of a Thornton Township meeting, which fell through after not enough board members showed up. Trustee Chris Gonzalez declined to attend, citing safety concerns about the cramped meeting space.

Disputes over meeting logistics have plagued the township, with disagreements between Henyard and trustees leading to a failed lawsuit over the meeting location.

Eviction Drama Unfolds with Former Landlord

Adding to Henyard’s troubles, her landlord, Genetta Hull, has filed an eviction lawsuit, claiming the mayor and her boyfriend stopped paying rent. Hull said she rented her property to Henyard, once a friend, but the relationship soured in 2021 when Henyard pressured her to lease the home.

Hull alleges that after raising the rent to $2,400 per month due to tax increases, Henyard’s boyfriend said they couldn’t afford the new rate. Hull also accused Henyard of changing the locks and garage codes without permission, preventing her from accessing the property.

Hull said she has not been able to serve eviction papers to Henyard, leaving the case unresolved.

While Henyard has not directly addressed these claims during the Facebook live session, her legal team has denied any wrongdoing in previous reports.

Federal Investigations and Reelection Campaign

Henyard’s legal troubles extend beyond her landlord dispute. Both Dolton and Thornton Township have reportedly received federal subpoenas this year as part of an ongoing investigation into Henyard’s associates and activities. Despite the scrutiny, Henyard is running for reelection, maintaining that she has done nothing wrong.
