Vamaca’s husband, Martin Ambrosio, was swimming in another part of the lake when he noticed his daughter was in trouble. By the time he arrived, Vamaca had already entered the water and was struggling herself.
Despite the efforts of several bystanders who attempted to rescue her and performed CPR until paramedics arrived, Vamaca was later pronounced dead at the hospital after being taken off life support.
