LAS VEGAS, NV ā€“ In today’s ‘What the Heck?’ news, we’ve got a report that will leave you scratching your head! A bizarre scene unfolded in Sin City when a Las Vegas woman allegedly got hammered, stole a casket from a funeral home, and dumped the body outside.

Patricia Sierra, 47, reportedly told cops she had “blacked out after downing six beers” when she broke into Affordable Cremation and Burial Service last month. She now faces charges of burglary, grand larceny, and disturbing human remains.

Drunken Escapade Leads to Shocking Casket Theft

According to police reports obtained by USA Today, the drama kicked off around 3 a.m. on August 27 when a 911 caller spotted a woman lying face down in front of the funeral homeā€”with a casket next to her. The caller said the place had been broken into.

When officers arrived, they found the casket on a cart outside the funeral home and a body, face down, on the rocks nearby. The funeral homeā€™s front door was smashed open, with broken glass littering the scene.

Police later learned the body had been prepped for a viewing the day before. Surveillance footage caught Sierra in the act, showing her smashing the front window, unlocking the door, and carting the casket out of the building. She was seen going in and out multiple times like she was on a shopping spree.

Caught Red-Handed at a 7-Eleven

Things got weirder when a construction worker told cops he saw Sierra holding flowers outside the funeral home on the day of the crime.

Sierraā€™s booze-fueled crime spree came to a halt on August 29, when a 911 caller spotted her in a 7-Eleven, still wearing the same clothes from the surveillance footage. Cops swooped in and arrested her.

When shown the video evidence, Sierra reportedly blamed her substance abuse issues, telling cops she blacked out after drinking too much. She apologized, claiming she didnā€™t mean to steal the casket on purposeā€”she was just drunk after six beers.
