TAHLEQUAH, OK – An investigation is underway after a fetus was found in a dormitory bathroom at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, school officials said Thursday.

NSA President Rodney Hanley shared the news on the university’s Facebook page on Thursday, saying that the fetus was discovered inside a community restroom in a residence hall on campus.
Hanley said school officials “immediately” contacted ambulance services and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
“Campus officials then began conducting welfare checks in an attempt to locate the mother. Shortly thereafter, a student came forward seeking medical attention,” Hanley said.
The school is cooperating with OSBI investigators looking into the incident.
Hanley said the university would have counseling services available to students “affected by this unfortunate situation.”
“I encourage our students to utilize these and other campus resources as we heal together,” Hanley wrote.
