Ex-Employee’s $100K Extortion Scheme: “Praise God, You’re on My Time Now!”
TAMPA, FL – A Florida man is facing charges for allegedly threatening to kill his former employer after he was fired, unless the employer paid thousands of dollars, officials said.
Bradenton man Jeffrey John Borho, 38, was arrested on July 19 and charged with extortion by interstate communication and interstate communication of a threat to injure, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced Wednesday.
Borho was fired from his job on July 1, according to court documents.
In the following days, he allegedly sent threatening phone calls and messages to his former employer. Borho allegedly threatened to kill his former employer and his wife if he did not pay Borho.
The demands for money allegedly started at $10,000, then increased to $20,000, then $100,000.
Borho also allegedly sent videos of himself threatening his former employer, stating, “I’ll kill you easily.”
“I don’t sue people, I kill people. And I get away with it every f***ing time. Praise God, you’re on my time now,” Borho allegedly said in one of the videos.
Borho has been ordered detained pending trial.
