PALM COAST, FL â A terrifying encounter unfolded in Palm Coast, Florida, when a father heroically defended his daughter from an alleged pervy prowler spying through her bedroom window. Armed with only a baseball bat, the dad managed to scare off the intruder before calling the authorities, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The incident began on the evening of September 12th when the man and his wife were relaxing in their backyard. It was then that they first noticed a suspicious figure lurking near their property, moving through the trees. Startled, they shouted at the creeper, and he quickly fled into the darkness.
However, the concerned father wasnât about to take any chances. Fearing the prowler might return, he remained watchful from his back porch the following night. His vigilance paid off.
As the father stood guard, he saw the man approach his 14-year-old daughterâs bedroom window. Rushing to the side of the house, he found the suspect allegedly peering inside. Without hesitation, the father swung his baseball bat at the man, sending him running from the property like a scared little baby.
After the prowler was chased away, the father immediately contacted the sheriffâs office.

Deputies quickly identified the suspect as 29-year-old Damon Smith. During questioning, Smith allegedly admitted that he “gets a thrill from walking around peopleâs homes.”
Authorities arrested him, charging him with loitering, voyeurism (first offense), and aggravated stalking of a minor under 16. Smith was later booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on an $86,000 bond.
This wasnât Smithâs first brush with the law. In 2013, at the age of 18, he was arrested for making a bomb threat at Flagler Palm Coast High School, further underscoring his troubled past.
âThis pervert said he gets excitement from peeping into other peopleâs windows but this time he came across a father protecting his daughter,â Sheriff Rick Staly stated. âThankfully deputies tracked this pervert down and got him checked into the Green Roof Inn.â
The fatherâs decisive actions, combined with swift law enforcement intervention, may have saved his daughter from an even more dangerous situation. Residents in the area are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately.
