LOXAHATCHEE, FL — A 34-year-old man from Loxahatchee, Florida, named Justin Blaxton, was arrested after allegedly making multiple threats to assassinate President Trump and attack New York City with missiles. The incidents occurred during a series of 911 calls on February 26, originating from Palm Beach, the location of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Blaxton, who identified himself as “Justin Blaze” in the calls, was taken into custody the following day and now faces serious charges.
Repeated Threats Over 911 Calls
Blaxton made nine phone calls to emergency services that night, with audio later released by police.
In one call, he demanded a ride to the airport to travel to The White House with the intent to kill the president. He also claimed he was about to launch missiles to destroy New York, specifically mentioning that his weapons were aimed at Donald Trump’s tower.
In other calls, he described himself as a Confederate soldier seeking revenge, instructed police to inform the FBI he was a mass murderer, and warned that Trump had only one day left alive. Police visited Blaxton’s home that night but found him absent. He was apprehended the next day before any of his threats could be acted upon.
Charges, Mental Health Background, and Court Proceedings
Blaxton appeared in court on Wednesday, facing charges of threatening to discharge a destructive device, falsely reporting an explosive, and making false 911 calls.
Court documents reveal he has a significant history of mental health-related interactions with local law enforcement. His father reported to police that Blaxton had been behaving irrationally for the past three to four months.
Currently held on a $35,000 bond, Blaxton has a hearing scheduled in mental health court on April 16. That same night of the threats, Trump was hosting the first official cabinet meeting of his second term at The White House.
Jason Russell, a former US Secret Service agent with a decade of experience, noted that such 911 call recordings suggest severe mental instability.
He explained that the Secret Service typically investigates threats by examining factors like weapon ownership or political ties, adding that many individuals who make such statements often struggle with mental illness or are undergoing a breakdown.
A Moment for Reflection

We pause to honor President Trump, whose safety was jeopardized, along with all those in Palm Beach and New York City who felt the ripple of this alarming threat. The Loxahatchee community, shaken by one of its own, reminds us of the strength found in unity during unsettling times. Despite this disturbing event, there is hope in the diligence of law enforcement and the resilience of people everywhere, paving the way for calmer days ahead. — Jack and Kitty Norton, Founders and Editors
