BOYNTON BEACH, FL – A Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly making terrifying threats to burn down a day care if her fostered infant daughter wasn’t returned. Authorities say this dramatic incident is the culmination of a bitter child custody dispute that has spiraled out of control.

Custody Fight Leads to Chaos and Arrests

In August 2024, Hany Matozes More, 38, was arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on several charges, including child abuse, child neglect, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

Following the arrest, she lost custody of her then-2-month-old daughter.

More posted bond, but her legal troubles didn’t end there. Court records indicate her case in Broward County is still pending.

Earlier this month, her behavior reportedly escalated, resulting in another arrest by Palm Beach County deputies.

Disturbing Threats at KinderCare Facility

The latest arrest stems from threats allegedly made against a KinderCare facility in Boynton Beach, a city within the Miami metro area.

According to an arrest report, the events leading up to her Feb. 2 arrest were part of an alarming pattern of behavior.

On New Year’s Eve 2024, More allegedly showed up at the day care but was denied access to her child. Things took a darker turn on Jan. 23, when authorities say she attempted to take her daughter directly from the facility but was once again stopped.

The following week, on Jan. 29, day care staff discovered a hole cut into the facility’s fence. To make matters worse, a tracking device was found hidden inside a stuffed animal that More had allegedly given to her child.

Gasoline Backpacks and Threatening Messages

The following day, on Jan. 30, More allegedly returned to the day care with a butane torch and a fire extinguisher.

Security guards reportedly intercepted her before she could reach the foster parent. However, authorities later found two backpacks filled with gasoline near the facility. One of the backpacks allegedly contained More’s Cuban ID card.

To add to the alarming situation, the foster parent reportedly received a chilling audio message via WhatsApp from More’s family member’s account. Authorities claim More’s voice can be heard in the message, making the direct threat to burn down the day care unless her daughter was returned.

Facing Serious Charges

More is currently being held without bond in the Palm Beach County Jail.

She faces a charge of intimidation involving electronic threats to kill, injure, or carry out mass violence.

Past Arrest for Vandalism Spree

More’s legal troubles date back to her 2024 arrest, which authorities say involved a wild vandalism spree while holding her infant. According to court documents, she allegedly arrived at someone’s home late at night and, with a blunt object believed to be her high heels, damaged the victim’s door, broke a motorcycle mirror, and dented a car hood.

Throughout the ordeal, deputies say More was holding her baby recklessly, nearly dropping her multiple times as the child cried hysterically. Fortunately, the infant wasn’t seriously harmed.

Authorities continue their investigation as More faces mounting charges and legal battles over her child custody case.
