ORLANDO, FL — A 28-year-old woman, Shanika Serdahl, was arrested in Florida on Thursday after allegedly attacking a man with a Pringles can inside a 7-Eleven on International Drive in Orlando. The incident, reported on March 8, 2025, at 4:06 PM, led to Serdahl being charged with one count of aggravated battery, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Altercation at the Convenience Store
The incident began when a deputy responded to a call about a physical fight at the 7-Eleven.
The victim, a man, told authorities that another male had approached him outside the store and made a comment about his vehicle. Inside, the victim asked Serdahl if she was with the man who spoke to him. According to the victim, Serdahl then struck him in the eye with a Pringles can before fleeing the scene.
The deputy noted a significant cut on the victim’s right eyebrow and below his eye, which was bleeding and appeared severe enough to cause a scar or permanent disfigurement.
A 7-Eleven employee who witnessed the event said the victim was talking to staff about a male customer lying outside when Serdahl called him a derogatory name and hit him with the can. The Pringles can reportedly flew down an aisle after the strike, leaving the victim’s eyebrow split open.
Conflicting Accounts of the Incident
Serdahl, located by law enforcement south of the 7-Eleven shortly after, admitted to hitting the victim but claimed it was because he had been rude and disrespectful, using a derogatory term toward her.
The victim denied this, stating he had simply ignored the man muttering outside and only asked Serdahl if she knew him. He added that Serdahl seemed like she had been drinking when she struck him while he was about to pay.
Arrest and Investigation
When deputies detained Serdahl and brought her back to the scene, the victim identified her as his attacker.
During questioning, Serdahl was unsure if she had paid for the Pringles can found in her possession. Due to limited immediate access to store cameras, she was not charged with petit theft at the time of her arrest.
Serdahl was taken into custody on the same day as the incident, though she is not currently listed as an inmate in the Orange County Jail as of this report.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office continues to handle the case, with aggravated battery as the primary charge against Serdahl stemming from the unusual assault at the convenience store.
