CORAL GABLES, FL — A routine morning took a terrifying turn when a woman accidentally drove her Porsche SUV through a third-story parking garage wall, leaving her vehicle teetering on the edge, supported only by a tree. The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Monday at a parking facility located at 1500 San Remo Drive, prompting a swift and dramatic rescue.
Shocking Accident Leaves Porsche Suspended in a Tree
Emergency responders from both Miami Fire Rescue and Coral Gables Fire Department arrived quickly on the scene. According to Coral Gables Fire Rescue Chief Xavier Jones, the woman appeared to have mistakenly pressed the gas pedal, launching her luxury vehicle through the concrete barrier and out of the building. Miraculously, the Porsche landed in a tree, preventing what could have been a much worse outcome.
“The lady pressed the accelerator by mistake and went through the wall,” Chief Jones explained to CBS News. “She got very lucky that when the car went through the wall, it landed in a tree. We were able to rescue her in 20 to 30 minutes.”

Swift Rescue Operation Saves Driver from Peril
Images shared on social media by Coral Gables Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1210 show the dramatic scene—half of the Porsche hanging dangerously out of the garage, with its front end lodged in the tree. Firefighters used harnesses to lower themselves down to the vehicle and safely extract the trapped driver.
The woman, who has not been named, was successfully rescued within half an hour and transported to a nearby hospital. Despite the harrowing crash, she was fortunate to escape without injuries.
Following the rescue, a crane was brought in to safely remove the Porsche from its precarious position. The joint effort between multiple rescue teams was praised across social media platforms.

“Grateful for the incredible work today by our @coralgablesfire along with teams from @miamifirerescue and @miamidadefirerescue in rescuing a driver whose car crashed through a parking garage barrier and onto a tree,” Coral Gables City Commissioner Ariel Fernandez wrote on Instagram. “Proud of our first responders!”
