ATLANTA, GA – A chaotic hit-and-run caught on camera has led to criminal charges against a truck driver, after his 18-wheeler shoved a passenger car through two busy intersections in Georgia before fleeing the scene.
The terrifying incident unfolded on January 28 in the Gwinnett Place neighborhood, just 25 miles northeast of Atlanta. Gwinnett County police released the shocking footage, showing the truck colliding with a silver sedan near the Interstate 85 overpass on Pleasant Hill Road.
Tractor-Trailer Sparks Chaos at Busy Intersection
Traffic cameras captured the moment when the truck, attempting to change into the right lane, struck the passenger car and sent it spinning directly into its path. With the sedan trapped in front of the massive vehicle, the truck continued barreling forward, pushing the helpless car through two intersections as traffic whizzed by.
Another angle from the victimâs dashboard camera showed the terrifying ride from inside the car as it was shoved across the busy roadway.

After dragging the car through the intersections, the truck driver did not stop. Instead, he sped off, leaving the sedan and its driver stranded.
Fortunately, the carâs driver escaped the ordeal without injury and immediately contacted police to report the hit-and-run.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
Investigators quickly tracked down the tractor-trailer and identified the suspect as 31-year-old Christian Barrier from Alabama. On Friday, Barrier surrendered to authorities at the Gwinnett County Jail.
