Two Harbors, Minnesota – If you’re looking for a jaw-dropping natural wonder, you’ve gotta check out Gooseberry Falls in northern Minnesota. It’s hands down one of the most popular waterfalls in the state, and for good reason. The falls are part of Gooseberry Falls State Park, which is a whopping 1,687 acres of pure beauty right next to Lake Superior.
The park has tons of hiking and biking trails that wind through lush forests, ancient rock formations, and along the 23-mile Gooseberry River. But the real show-stopper is the falls themselves. You can easily get to them from the parking area, and there’s even a little gift shop and interpretive site nearby to learn more about the area.
This is one my fave spots in all of Minnesota to go hiking with my hubby Jack. We seriously love Gooseberry Falls!
When you lay your eyes on Gooseberry Falls, you’ll be blown away. It’s actually made up of three different falls that cascade over a rocky gorge in quick succession. You can climb down to the bottom of the falls to get an up-close and personal look, or stay at the top and watch the water rush towards Lake Superior.
