STEARNS COUNTY, MN – A fun-filled evening turned into a devastating tragedy at a popular autumn attraction in central Minnesota. On October 12, the annual Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride in St. Augusta became the scene of an accident that claimed the life of a young boy.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 7:37 p.m. reporting an accident during the hayride event. According to authorities, a 13-year-old boy, Alexander Mick from Rice, suffered fatal injuries when he was run over by a trolley wagon being pulled by a tractor.

Immediately after the incident, staff members, bystanders, and first responders rushed to provide aid. The St. Augusta Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance Service responded swiftly to the scene, where lifesaving efforts continued for the injured boy. Sadly, these efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
