BRISTOL, TN – A shocking and random act of violence has left many in disbelief: a homeless man from Bristol, Tennessee allegedly murdered another homeless man while he slept. The brutal stabbing occurred outside a hotel last month, and it wasn’t until hours later that the victim’s body was discovered in a pool of blood.

The Brutal Attack

Around 3:15 a.m. on November 8, Shichun Lin, 58, reportedly approached Kan Shing Cheung, 68, who was sleeping outside the Fairfield Inn and Suites on East Broadway near Pike Street in New York City.

Lin allegedly stabbed Cheung multiple times in the chest, ending the man’s life in a senseless act of violence. Authorities say Cheung was found hours later, lying face down, around 8:15 a.m., with no sign of a struggle. It is believed to be a random attack, with no prior interaction between the two men.
