MANCHESTER, NH – A stretch of highway in New Hampshire was expected to be closed for “several hours” Friday after a logging truck flipped over a guardrail, leaving part of the trailer dangling over a road below.
Interstate 293 Southbound was closed in the area of Exit 6 in Manchester after the crash between the truck and a passenger vehicle, which occurred at around 6:30 a.m. Friday, according to New Hampshire State Police.
“It is estimated that it will take several hours to remove the tractor-trailer and cleanup the scene,” state police wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.”

Police said the driver of the logging truck and the driver of a sedan were transported to Elliot Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In a video from the scene posted on X shortly before 9:30 a.m., New Hampshire State Police Capt. Stephen Sloper showed cranes working from above and below to remove tractor-trailer, which can be seen dangling over a wall below the highway.
“We’re just asking at this time for motorists and the public to avoid the area so that crews can do their job and clean this up and get the highway back open,” Sloper said. “Thank you for your cooperation.”
Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
