WEST GLACIER, MT – The National Park Service said it is still searching for a hiker who went missing in Montana’s Glacier National Park on Sunday, and is asking visitors who may have seen him to come forward with any information.
Grant Marcuccio, 32, from Whitefish, Mont., was last seen on Sunday before he got separated from his party while hiking from Heavens Peak to McPartland Peak in Glacier National Park, officials said.
Marcuccio was last seen heading toward McPartland, but did not arrive at the rendezvous as planned. Park rangers were alerted that he was missing on Sunday evening.
Park officials said Two Bear Air began flights over the Heavens Peak area on Monday, and flew over the area again Tuesday. Rangers and search teams also searched the area from the ground.
On Wednesday, a U.S. Forest Service helicopter transported additional ground-based search teams to the area, and continued to search from the air.
Marcuccio is described as a white male with short brown hair and brown eyes, standing six feet tall and weighing about 175 pounds.
Park officials are asking anyone with information or who has been in the area and may have seen someone fitting Marcuccio’s description to contact the park tip line at 406-888-7077.
As we await news, let us earnestly lift Grant Marcuccio up in our prayers, seeking Godās protection and guidance for him.
We also pray for the safety and strength of the search teams, asking the Lord to grant them wisdom and success in their efforts. May Godās comforting presence be with everyone involved in this challenging situation.
