💰 The Burden of Lunch Debt

The Blue Springs School District is facing a big problem: unpaid school lunch debt. Even though all kids have access to school lunches and some even get a free breakfast, the debt just keeps piling up. Principal Dr. Alison Longwell says there’s more than $3,000 of debt at her elementary school alone, and over $225,000 in the whole district. That’s a lot of money!

🤝 A Community Effort

Usually, it’s businesses that reach out to help with lunch debt, not families. But Daken is changing that. He’s stepping up to help his classmates as he gets ready to head to middle school. And guess what? He’s already raised $560! That’s going to make a big difference for a lot of kids.

🌟 A Shining Example

Daken is showing us all that you’re never too young to make a difference in your community. By taking action to help his classmates, he’s setting an amazing example of kindness and compassion. Way to go, Daken!
