MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A Florida family’s birthday celebration ended in unimaginable tragedy when a driver—allegedly drunk and speeding nearly 100 mph—crashed into their car, killing a grandmother and three young children. The horrific wreck, caught on security cameras, turned what should have been a joyful evening at the movies into a nightmare.

High-Speed Impact Claims Four Lives

Antonio Wilcox Jr., 25, is now facing four counts of vehicular manslaughter, with more charges expected.

Authorities say Wilcox was behind the wheel of a black Kia Sorrento, barreling down a city street in Miami Gardens at an astonishing 99 mph around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

His SUV slammed into the back of a white Nissan Altima, causing it to ricochet into a Cadillac Escalade.

Inside the Altima were 51-year-old Rosa Mae Jones and her three grandchildren—Kamari Graham and Ireanna Johnson, both 10, and 8-year-old Azariah McCall. They never made it to the theater.

Two other adults and two children in the car survived but suffered serious injuries. Police revealed that at least three people in the Altima were not wearing seat belts.

Surveillance cameras in the area recorded the terrifying moment of impact.

The force of the crash left wreckage scattered across the street, and first responders faced a chaotic scene.

Miami Gardens police described it as one of the worst accidents they had ever investigated.

Mother Tracked Son’s Phone—Then It Stopped

The mother of one of the surviving children had been tracking her son’s phone that evening. She later revealed that as soon as his location stopped moving, she knew something terrible had happened.

Wilcox, who was taken to the hospital for treatment, is now being held without bond at the Broward County Jail.

Honoring the Victims

The loss of Rosa Mae Jones and her beloved grandchildren—Kamari, Ireanna, and Azariah—is a heartbreaking tragedy that leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and loved them.

Their family’s sorrow is unimaginable, but as Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” May their memories be a source of comfort, and may their loved ones find strength in faith during this time of grief.
