GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — What started as a straightforward prom dress sale at a local gas station here in Gwinnett County, Georgia erupted into an intense physical altercation, leading to multiple arrests and one local gal’s impressive display of self-defense.
The Drama Behind the Dress
The incident began when an 18-year-old agreed to meet Morgan Flinchum, 20, to sell a prom dress that Flinchum had previously owned.
The victim’s mother had already made a partial payment for the garment, according to police documents.
The Meeting Takes a Dark Turn
The seller and Flinchum entered a gas station bathroom for a fitting, but things quickly went sideways when an unidentified individual allegedly grabbed the dress and fled.
While the seller’s boyfriend managed to recover the dress, the situation escalated as three women—Flinchum, Kaylee George, and Leila DeJager—reportedly surrounded the seller outside.
From Victim to Victor
Surveillance footage captured the intense moment when one suspect allegedly put the seller in a chokehold.
In a stunning reversal, the 18-year-old seller executed a defensive maneuver, flipping her attacker over her shoulder and slamming her to the ground.
The confrontation continued as Flinchum allegedly attempted to strike the seller before the boyfriend intervened. Another unidentified woman then reportedly grabbed the seller’s hair, leading to additional physical confrontations.
Legal Consequences
The 18-year-old seller reported breathing difficulties from the alleged chokehold and showed visible injuries, according to police.
Gwinnett County Police Corporal Juan Madiedo confirmed that all parties involved were previously acquainted with each other.
All three suspects later surrendered to authorities. Flinchum and DeJager face charges of battery and theft by taking, while George faces a theft by taking charge. As in all criminal cases, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
