Gunfire Erupts Outside Dream Nightclub

The violence unfolded just after 2 a.m. on January 26 in the parking lot of Dream nightclub. A 24-year-old gunman ran toward a group gathered outside and began firing a handgun, sending people running for cover.

A security guard, appearing to wear body armor, didn’t hesitate. He raised an assault rifle and fired back, unleashing what witnesses described as a rapid burst of gunfire. After briefly pausing, he tracked the shooter’s movements before resuming fire.

Panic swept through the scene as terrified patrons dropped to the ground or ran for their lives.

Shooter Wounded, Security Guard’s Actions Under Review

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was later arrested after showing up at a hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, according to police. It remains unclear whether the security guard could face any charges.

Club owner JaMichael Smith confirmed that the guard worked for him, praising his swift response in protecting patrons.

Nightclub Plagued By Violence

This was not the first time Dream nightclub had been at the center of gunfire.

On December 1, a fight inside the bar escalated into a shooting that left a 22-year-old injured. As a result, authorities recently issued the club a five-day suspension of its alcohol service.
