Abduction and Assault
The girl was walking when a stranger grabbed her and forced her into his car. This took place at the 5200 block of 34th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Initially, authorities were unable to locate her when they began their missing person investigation.
According to her account to police, the man drove off with her and assaulted her inside the vehicle. Hours later, he released her about one mile away at a fast food restaurant.
Later that night, she appeared at a Minneapolis home and rang the doorbell, prompting a police response.
After she came forward, the girl told officers she had been raped and provided a key detail about her attacker: he had a hand tattoo resembling either a rose or a spider web.
Evidence Leads to Suspect
A medical examination confirmed the girl’s account, revealing injuries consistent with the assault she described.
During the exam, a DNA sample was collected, which proved critical in identifying the perpetrator. The sample matched the DNA profile of Danylo Boldon, a man with a rose tattoo on his hand, as noted in the criminal complaint.
Arrest Made
On February 5, police arrested Boldon in connection with the crime. The matching DNA evidence and the tattoo description provided by the girl linked him directly to the assault. Authorities have since filed charges based on the incident.
The case has left the Minneapolis community grappling with the unsettling events involving the young victim, whose courage in reporting the crime aided in the apprehension of the suspect.
