INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A local pizza delivery driver’s commitment was tested in a harrowing snowstorm in Indiana this past week, turning what should have been a routine drop-off into a jaw-dropping tale of grit, determination, and a surprising twist. Connor Stephanoff braved icy winds, unplowed streets, and freezing temperatures to ensure a family received their pizza order. But the real shock came when his tireless effort was rewarded with a mere $2 tip. What happened next, though, became an inspiring example of kindness in our community.

The Icy Journey in Brownsburg

Connor Stephanoff, a delivery driver for Rock Star Pizza, found himself trekking half a mile through heavy snow in Brownsburg, Indiana. The roads were treacherous, with snowplows barely keeping up, and a school bus crash had blocked his route.

Wearing only sweatpants, a sweater, a beanie, and sneakers, Stephanoff parked his car at the top of a hill and walked the rest of the way to deliver a $40 pizza order to a home in a wealthy neighborhood.

A $2.15 Tip Shocks Officer

Lieutenant Richard Craig of the Avon Police Department noticed Stephanoff navigating the icy street and initially thought he was a curious bystander. When he learned the young man was delivering pizza, Craig asked about the tip.

“Two dollars,” Stephanoff replied, later adjusting it to $2.15 after double-checking the receipt.

Craig, stunned by the meager tip, expressed his frustration in a video posted online. “Cold-blooded! This man walked through hell and high water to deliver a pizza,” Craig exclaimed.

Police Officer Takes Action

Impressed by Stephanoff’s work ethic but dismayed by the tip, Craig gave the young driver $15 from his own wallet. He later set up a GoFundMe campaign to recognize Stephanoff’s efforts, initially aiming to raise $500.

The fundraiser far surpassed expectations, gathering over $16,000 by Saturday morning.

Rock Star Pizza Speaks Out

In a Facebook post, Rock Star Pizza praised Stephanoff’s dedication, acknowledging the story resonated with many who have worked in customer service.

“At one time or another, any of us who has worked in a customer service position has been Connor,” the post read.

The restaurant noted that employees were given the option to stay home during the storm, but Stephanoff chose to work.

“He’s a great kid who works hard, and we’re so happy to have him,” the restaurant shared.

A Message of Dedication

“Any condition, anytime, anywhere. You will get your pizza,” Stephanoff said.

His determination, coupled with Officer Craig’s support, has turned a cold, snowy delivery into a heartwarming story of perseverance and community generosity. Give ‘@TheOfficerCraig’ a follow on Instagram and X.
