ST. PAUL, MN – A brutal drive-by shooting in St. Paul, Minnesota left a man dead Friday afternoon, with two children forced to witness the horrifying attack. As the man sat in his car with the young passengers, gunfire erupted, shattering their afternoon and leaving a chilling scene of violence in broad daylight.
Details of the Shooting
The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Aurora Avenue. St. Paul police responded to the scene and found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. An ambulance arrived shortly after, but despite efforts to save him, the man died while being transported to the hospital.
According to police, the victim was sitting in a parked car with another man and two small children when shots were fired from a passing vehicle. Authorities believe that a small, dark vehicle, possibly an SUV, drove past the car and opened fire. After the shooting, the vehicle fled south on Dale Street.
The other man and the two children in the car were unharmed. The children, though not physically injured, were witnesses to the violent act.
Investigation and Community Appeal
This marks the 29th homicide in St. Paul this year. In comparison, there were 32 homicides in the city in 2023, underscoring the ongoing concerns about rising violence.
As of Saturday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the suspects remain unidentified. St. Paul police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 651-266-5650.
