STILLWATER, MN – A 30-year-old man, William Haslach, has been charged with serious federal crimes involving child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Minnesota. Haslach, a former employee of Minnesota school districts in the northeast metro and Stillwater areas, faces multiple counts of receipt and possession of CSAM, as well as production of obscene visual representations of abuse. The charges were filed this week, escalating a case that began with his dismissal from employment last month.
Employment History and Alleged Crimes
Haslach worked in various roles across two school districts between 2021 and 2024. In the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District, he served as a lunch monitor and traffic guard at Cowern Elementary, Richardson Elementary, and North High from August 2021 until January of this year. Additionally, he was employed by the Stillwater Area School District as a paraprofessional and youth summer program assistant from 2021 to 2024.
Authorities say he exploited his positions to take nonexplicit photos of children under his supervision. He then allegedly used those images to create morphed or AI-generated pictures depicting the minors in abusive and explicit situations.
Haslach was terminated from his job last month after Ramsey County charged him with CSAM offenses. The federal charges, numbering more than ten, mark a significant escalation in the legal actions against him.
Authorities Respond and Seek Additional Victims
Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick addressed the case, emphasizing the emotional toll on parents and affirming the office’s commitment to prosecuting Haslach fully under the law.
Authorities suspect there may be additional victims beyond those already identified. They have issued an appeal to parents whose children may have interacted with Haslach during his time at the schools.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has provided contact options for anyone with information, including a tip line at 651-793-2465 and an email address, bca.tips@state.mn.us. A dedicated website has also been established to support alleged victims of Haslach’s actions, offering resources and a way to report concerns.
As the investigation continues, officials remain focused on ensuring justice for those affected by the disturbing allegations against the former school employee.
A Moment for Reflection

We pause to honor the victims and all those touched by the horrific actions of William Haslach, recognizing the profound impact on their lives and the courage it takes to face such a betrayal. The Stillwater and northeast metro communities stand together, united in their resolve to support one another through this troubling time. To every reader, may you find hope in the ongoing efforts of authorities and the strength of those affected as they seek justice and healing. – Jack & Kitty Norton, Founders and Editors
