EDINA, MN — In an affluent Twin Cities suburb known more for its upscale shopping than criminal activity, Minnesota law enforcement has finally caught up with two teenagers who allegedly treated the city like their own personal Grand Theft Auto game.
The Crime Spree
The pair of 17-year-olds, arrested last week in Minneapolis, are accused of orchestrating a stunning array of criminal activities across Edina.
Police say the teens’ alleged two-month crime wave included nine vehicle thefts, four home break-ins, and 16 instances of either stealing from vehicles or tampering with them.
High-Speed Pursuits
Adding to the drama, the teens allegedly fled from police in stolen vehicles on three separate occasions.
Law enforcement sources indicate that most of these incidents occurred during January and early March 2025, though one vehicle theft dates back to summer 2024.
Prevention Advice
Edina Police took to social media following the arrests, urging residents to take basic security measures.
They emphasized the importance of locking vehicle doors, removing keys and valuables (including garage door openers) from cars, and securing home entrances.
The teens’ identities remain protected due to their juvenile status.
