DOVER, NH — What started as a car theft ended in an impromptu nude performance on Route 16 in New Hampshire when a local man allegedly ditched his clothes — and his crashed vehicle — before treating unsuspecting motorists to an unauthorized exhibition.
The Crash and Dash
Shawn Weiner Sr., 35, apparently wasn’t content with just allegedly stealing a car.
After crashing the vehicle on Varney Road in Somersworth, police say he took his performance to the next level by shedding his clothes and venturing into traffic.
Birthday Suit Boulevard
Multiple drivers contacted authorities around 3:15 p.m. Sunday to report an unclothed individual wandering among vehicles on the two-lane highway.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Weiner left a trail of discarded clothing along the highway shoulder before making his bold entrance into the travel lanes.
Multiple Charges Stack Up
State authorities charged Weiner with indecent exposure and lewdness, reckless conduct, two counts of disorderly conduct, and littering.
The Dover Police Department, leading the crash investigation, added their own set of charges before taking him into custody.
Ongoing Investigation
The Somersworth Police Department continues to investigate the vehicle theft, with Dover Fire and Rescue assisting in the case.
