SOUTH TOMS RIVER, NJ — A grim scene unfolded in New Jersey on Saturday night in a residential area just outside Philadelphia, where police found 38-year-old Gustavo Juarez-Perez’s wife dead on their floor with facial injuries and a belt wrapped around her neck.
Swift Justice in Quiet Neighborhood
Emergency responders rushed to the Hummel Drive residence around 9:15 p.m. after receiving reports of an unconscious woman.
Despite their immediate efforts to save her life, Cheyanne Juarez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Leads to Immediate Arrest
Law enforcement officials, including the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, quickly identified Juarez-Perez as the alleged perpetrator.
He was arrested at the home without resistance.
Multiple Charges Filed
Prosecutors have charged Juarez-Perez with murder and two weapons-related offenses. He remains in Ocean County Jail without bond while awaiting his detention hearing.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer praised the coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in securing the rapid arrest.
As with all criminal cases in the United States, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
