NEW YORK, NY – A Staten Island, New York teacher who launched into a profanity-laced meltdown against a student in his classroom—slamming the teen as a “punk a–”—ironically wrote a children’s book about acceptance and tolerance. The teacher, who furiously denounced President Donald Trump during the heated exchange, was swiftly forced to resign after a recording of his explosive tirade went public.
Teacher’s Outburst Sparks Backlash
Anthony Bilotti, 49, taught Italian at the prestigious Monsignor Farrell High School. His career at the school came to a sudden end after an audio clip surfaced of him screaming at a student who told him to calm down.
The nearly two-minute leaked recording reveals Bilotti launching into a heated rant against President Trump and Republicans before a student respectfully suggests that he should calm down.
At that moment, Bilotti totally loses control, erupting in an aggressive verbal attack on the youngster.
He berates the student, accuses him of being ungrateful, and even brings up a recommendation letter he had written, implying that the student had taken advantage of his support. His fury escalates throughout the ear-piercing rant.
The viral audio left the school little choice but to cut ties with him. As outrage over the incident spreads, Bilotti has remained silent, refusing to respond to calls for comment.
A Children’s Book with a Contradiction
The fiery classroom outburst stands in stark contrast to the themes of Bilotti’s independently published children’s book, You’re Different Than Me.
Released in September and available on Amazon’s Children’s Books on Racism & Prejudice list, the book uses rhyming text and crayon illustrations to teach a message of acceptance.
The story follows a man who initially rejects a little green alien knocking at his door, refusing to accept the visitor simply because he is “different.” Over time, the extraterrestrial shares his story, leading the man to change his perspective.
The book concludes with the idea that differences should not divide people.
A Complicated Past
Beyond his teaching and writing career, Bilotti has showcased his other passions online. On Instagram, he presents himself as a singer, guitarist, lyricist, skateboarder, husband, and father, branding himself as a “happy guy.”
However, his professional credentials raise questions—he obtained a provisional New York state teaching license for grades 7 to 12 in 2003, but records show it expired in 2008. The school declined to clarify why he was still teaching.
In a carefully worded statement, Monsignor Farrell High School avoided naming Bilotti but addressed the controversy. The school emphasized its commitment to open discussions but stressed that all conversations must be rooted in “mutual respect and Catholic values.”
