YREKA, CA – Tom Welling, the actor who once soared to fame as Clark Kent on “Smallville,” found himself in handcuffs early Monday after being arrested for suspected DUI in Northern California. The 47-year-old actor’s arrest unfolded in an Arby’s parking lot in Yreka just past midnight, sending shockwaves through fans and sparking headlines nationwide.
Confirmed by booking records, Welling was taken into custody by a Yreka Police officer. He was booked into Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office at around 2 a.m. but was released by 7 a.m. An arraignment is scheduled for March 11, where he could face legal consequences stemming from the incident.
Arby’s Parking Lot Arrest Adds to Actor’s Turmoil
The arrest took place hours after Welling posted a heartfelt Instagram message dedicated to his wife, Jessica Rose Lee Welling, in celebration of her birthday. His words painted a picture of love and family, but the night took a dramatic turn.
“Happy Birthday to our Angel who makes our dreams come true and inspires us even more! We love you to the moon and back!” Welling wrote. The couple, who married in 2019, have two young sons—Thomson Wylde, 6, and Rocklin Von, 3.
From Superhero to Scandal
Welling, who captivated audiences as a young Clark Kent on the hit series “Smallville,” is no stranger to fame. The show ran for 10 successful seasons, starting on the WB before moving to The CW after a network merger.
His career also includes roles in the popular TV show “Lucifer” and the family comedy film “Cheaper by the Dozen.”
This recent arrest, however, marks a different kind of headline for the former superhero, casting a shadow over his clean-cut, on-screen image. Fans now await Welling’s next court date to see how this incident will unfold.
