RICHFIELD, MN — A 43-year-old man was arrested Thursday night after crashing a cargo van into a fence at a preschool and daycare center in Richfield, Minnesota. The incident took place at Primrose School of South Minneapolis and Richfield, located at 6500 Richfield Parkway, across from a bustling shopping center featuring Target and Home Depot.

The Richfield Police Department received a call about the crash at approximately 8:15 p.m. The van struck the fence surrounding the school’s playground on the northeast corner of the property, near the back parking lot.
Authorities reported that the collision caused significant damage to the fence. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Police arrested the driver at the scene on suspicion of drunk driving. The 43-year-old man is currently being held in Hennepin County Jail on pending probable cause DWI charges, according to jail records. The cargo van involved in the crash was impounded by police for safekeeping.
