ELOY, AZ – A skydiving trip in Arizona ended in tragedy for a Minnesota woman, sparking an investigation into the circumstances of her fatal descent. Authorities are now working to uncover what went wrong.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon at Skydive Arizona in Eloy, a popular skydiving destination located about 65 miles southeast of Phoenix. Emergency responders from the Eloy Police Department and the Eloy Fire District rushed to the scene after receiving reports that a parachutist was facing life-threatening complications during their descent.
Despite efforts by medical personnel to save her, 55-year-old Ann Wick was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
Authorities, including the Federal Aviation Administration, are investigating the accident. Police confirmed that the FAA and other agencies would conduct a thorough review of the equipment, skydiving procedures, and any surrounding factors that could have contributed to the tragedy.
