FISHERS, IN — A domestic violence nightmare reached its devastating conclusion when Joshua Alexander Farmer, 34, admitted in court to murdering his ex-wife in a calculated attack that started with stalking and ended in a hail of bullets at a Speedway gas station in Indiana.

CALCULATED PURSUIT ENDS IN TRAGEDY

After trailing his former spouse throughout the day, Farmer lay in wait at the Speedway near 116th Street and Allisonville Road.

When Kaylah Ann Farmer, 33, stopped for gas on her way home from work, he struck.

Witnesses reported hearing dozens of shots as Farmer unleashed round after round into her red Chrysler van.

HISTORY OF TERROR

In the weeks before the murder, young eyes had witnessed escalating violence.

The couple’s 11-year-old son revealed to investigators a pattern of abuse, including a chilling incident where his father forced a grotesque choice upon his mother: her life or her child’s.

Court documents paint a portrait of ongoing torment, with Kaylah reportedly using heavy makeup to conceal evidence of repeated assaults.

JUSTICE SERVED

On Thursday, Farmer pleaded guilty to murder and stalking charges. Prosecutors, who initially sought the death penalty, agreed to drop additional weapons charges in exchange for the plea.

They believe the killing was meant to silence Kaylah, preventing her testimony in pending domestic violence cases.

THE FINAL MANHUNT

Following the shooting, law enforcement launched an intensive search. Their efforts paid off when alert detectives spotted shoes behind shrubbery near the crime scene.

Upon investigation, they found Farmer hiding in the bushes, bringing the tragic saga to an end.

A medical examiner’s report would later reveal the brutality of the attack: more than 15 gunshot wounds and over 25 bullet fragments scattered throughout Kaylah’s body, marking a final, violent chapter in what prosecutors described as a long-running campaign of domestic terror.
