TACOMA, WA – A deadly fire erupted inside a Tacoma, Washington indoor gun range Sunday evening, leaving one person dead and another hospitalized. As flames tore through the building, ammunition ignited, creating a dangerous scene for firefighters rushing to save lives.
Chaos Unfolds as Fire Breaks Out
Tacoma Fire Department crews raced to the Bull’s Eye Indoor Pistol Range on Puyallup Avenue just after 6:15 p.m.
The range was open at the time, and an employee helped evacuate some people before the fire intensified, officials said.
Firefighters entered the burning structure but faced immediate danger.
“There’s ammunition in the building, so of course when our crews immediately went in to try and find the victims, there was ammunition going off in the fire,” TFD spokesperson Chelsea Shepherd said.
One Dead, Another Rushed to Hospital
Inside the scorched remains of the range, emergency responders discovered one person dead.
Another victim was pulled from the fire and taken to a hospital, but officials did not immediately disclose the extent of their injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, nor confirmed whether they were an employee or customer.
Investigations Underway
Fire investigators are working to determine what caused the blaze, while Tacoma police say they are focusing on “details surrounding the deceased victim.”
The investigation remains active as authorities race to solve the bizarre blaze.
