ROMA, TX — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers confiscated methamphetamine valued at over $20 million at the Roma Port of Entry in Roma, Texas. The significant seizure took place on March 5, 2025, at the Roma International Bridge cargo facility, with details released to the public on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Tractor Trailer Conceals Narcotics

The operation began when CBP officers encountered a tractor trailer hauling bottled mineral water.

Selected for a routine inspection, the vehicle underwent a thorough examination involving advanced non-intrusive equipment and screening by a trained CBP canine team. A physical inspection followed, revealing the illicit cargo hidden within the shipment.

Massive Methamphetamine Haul Uncovered

Inside the trailer, officers found 1,632 bottles containing alleged liquid methamphetamine. The total weight of the seized narcotics amounted to 2,268.51 pounds, with an estimated street value of $20,279,137.

Port Director Andres Guerra, overseeing the Roma Port of Entry, emphasized the diligence of the CBP team in intercepting the shipment.

Following the seizure, CBP’s Office of Field Operations (OFO) took possession of both the narcotics and the tractor trailer.
